The Western Cape has endless sandy beaches. The combination of the two oceans offers a variety of beaches, all of which are very accessible from the Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel.
Just across the road from the hotel! The white sandy beautiful beach, popular with families, stretches from Chapmans Peak Drive to the Hout Bay Harbour and has spectacular mountain surrounds. Visitors can enjoy a cool swim, sunbathing and beach games. There are a number of water sports available on the beach. The best spot for swimming is the section closest to the hotel. Horse riding can be arranged along this beach, an amazing experience. Many whales have been spotted in the Bay. This occurs during the months of August - October. Whale spotting can be enjoyed from your private balcony in the sea facing rooms.
Just a 10 minute drive from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is considered to be one of the most picturesque beaches in South Africa, and consistently makes it into the top 10 beach in South Africa. Very popular with surfers but also ideal for picnics enjoying the sunset. This beach is patrolled by lifeguards due to strong currents.
This can be reached by a 20 minute walk from Llandudno. It is totally enclosed by sand dunes and enjoys a degree of wind shelter. It is Cape Town´s main nudist beach, but this is not a necessity to enjoy the beach!
Just a 15 minute drive from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is situated on the edge of Table Mountain, bordered with palm trees. Camps Bay Beach is an activities beach, hosting events such as Beach Volleyball championships. Glen Beach is a popular spot for surfers. Across the road from the beach the promenade offers a number of trendy restaurants, cafes and bars. This beach is the most accessible of all beaches, and consequently can be a busy spot.
Just a 20 minute drive from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. Clifton consists of four beaches, Clifton 1 to Clifton 4, which are separated by rocks and are totally sheltered from the wind. The fashionable beaches are popular with tourists and locals, and is often called the St Tropez of Cape Town. All of the beaches are accessible via steep stairs. The fourth beach is the most popular with families since it has the least steps.
Just a 15 minute drive South over the scenic Chapmans Peak Drive. The long sandy beach stretches for 8 km´s across Chapmans Peak to Onetime. This is a spectacular open beach, perfect for walking and horse riding. The waters are hazardous, but are still popular with some adventurous surfers.
The Kommetjie end of Long Beach is one of the most popular surfing spots in the Peninsula, attracting surfers, long boarders, body-boarders and swimmers as well.
Just a 30 minute drive from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. The beach is situated just past Simon´s Town en-route to Cape Point, and is considered to be one of the best swimming beaches in Cape Town. It is also the home of the African penguins and a must-see spot.
Just a 20 minute drive from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is popular for a variety of activities, including sailing, surfing, paddling, snorkeling, swimming etc. It is a warm-water beach, and hence very popular with the little ones.
Just a 30 minute drive from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is famous on many Cape Town postcards with the colourful beach huts. The beach is safe for swimming and surfing. It is the home of the long board surfer and the soul of surfing in Cape Town. There are various other secluded beaches South along the road towards Kalk Bay.
